Weekend via iPhone

My unexpected day off on Friday was fabulous, I was able to tidy up our little home and make room to decorate for Christmas! I have two days off this week I could have decorated but I was just in the Christmas mood on Friday

My favorite new little decoration to our home is my makeshift "bar." When we bought out home and it was staged they had a tray on the island with wine glasses, corks and other bar-related items. I just loved the idea of have a tray on the counter with my favorite glasses and my collection of corks. The only tray I had around the house was this leopard one, I will be replacing it shortly with a gold one on my Christmas list!

Friday evening we spent time with some friends and had a few cocktails in our pajamas! A much needed, relaxing evening!

Saturday I slept in and had lunch with my Sister, she was in town for her boyfriends swim meet! After lunch I headed to a little bar up the street and met a friend from Raleigh for a drink! It was so good catching up and laughing at so many old memories!

Saturday evening we headed to a surprise dinner party for one of Jeremy's friend! It was a chilly 28 degrees Saturday evening so I bundled up in one of my favorite winter sweaters!
Sweater: Forever 21/ Leggings: Daily Chic/ Shoes: Target/
Necklace: The Jewel Box c/o

Saturday night I decided to put my prude self away and just let-go. I decided to not count my drinks (as well as Jeremy's) and just have fun! This is a new one for me, any time we go out I'm constantly making sure I don't get drunk or have one too many, I also make sure Jeremy does the same. It's bad I know, I just have had such bad past relationships that revolved around drinking and night-life that I try so hard to not go back to that! But anyways, I had fun! I danced, sang, drank, laughed and honestly had the most fun I've had going out in a long time!!!

...and Sunday sucked.

That is all.
I'm still recovering.

How was y'alls weekend?

Five on Friday!

1. Wednesday was our engagaversary (how do you even spell that?) 11.20.12 we closed on our first home together and got engaged! I can't believe it has been an entire year! I am so thankful for everything we have and so blessed to have Jeremy in my life!

2. Thursday was my dads birthday, he would have been 52 this year! I drove home late Wednesday evening to be with my mom and sister for daddy's birthday! Thursday morning I headed to the dentist and made a stop a Biscuit Factory to get a sausage biscuit and large Diet Dr. Pepper, exactly what we would have eaten with Dad for breakfast!

For lunch we went to one of his favorite restaurants, Mellow Mushroom! I indulged in a delicious slice and yummy wheat beer!

After lunch sister & I went to find a pug! My dad was obsessed with pugs, we used to have two of them!
Daisy & Mitzy
We found the tiniest little guy to play with!

3. I went to the eye doctor Thursday, my eyes haven't changed but I still want some new frames! I liked these so much at the doctor but after looking at myself in this picture I am SO glad I didn't order them! Atrocious!

4. I am really sad to say goodbye to my beautiful guest room, I worked so hard! We're getting a roommate in January... more details on that later. I'm actually excited about it!

5. I have today off, which wasn't planned, so what to do? Currently laying in bed, blogging and drinking some chai latte, watching E! Maybe I should decorate for Christmas?
What are y'all doing today??

psst. HAPPY FRIDAY!

Hostess Gift Guide & A Giveaway

Every year you're invited to holiday parties and you bring the go-to bottle of wine for the hostess, well this year you won't. This year you're going to put time and thought into your hostess gift! I am always searching for the perfect gift to bring someone who is close enough to me to invite me into their home! I love the idea of giving them a personal or personalized gift rather than a bottle of bubbly or wine!

Here are my current favorite hostess gifts for the holidays:

Gift Guide: Party Hostess

-I love the idea of champagne flutes, something not everyone has, and to add some cute wording to them? I die! So perfect to toast to the hostess with the mostest!

-The lacquer tray is a classic gift, get it personalized or monogrammed and it just adds the perfect touch! I am swooning over the gold one from West Elm, it's obviously on my Christmas list!

-Have a host who loves her coffee and a slight buzz? I mean, how freakin' cute is that mug? Coming from a girl who is literally allergic to mornings, I would use this mug every dang day! Add some Baileys in your gift bag to make the gift a little more fun and party appropriate!

-Lastly I love the idea of a picture for your host, maybe of you and your host if you're close enough or of their family! I recently received this canvas from Easy Canvas Prints and I just fell in love! I love having a picture on a canvas, something about it just adds a unique touch and look to my gallery wall!

Best part- you can get your Instagram photos printed on canvas! Is your best friend hosting the party, remember that night y'all took that killer IG photo? Have it put on canvas! Ah, I just LOVE this idea!

Even better part... I'm giving away one 8x10 canvas print from
Easy Canvas Prints! Enter below using the Rafflecopter widget! The giveaway will end 11/27 at midnight! Good-luck!

this is a sponsored post and my canvas was given to me c/o Easy Canvas Prints, however, all opinions are my own.

Weekend Snapshots

This past weekend was one for the books! I ventured home Thursday evening to spend time with my friend Leslie and take care of my moms house while she was away! Thursday evening we baked an amazing homemade pizza and sipped on some red wine!

Early Friday we were up and ready for a day of wedding dress shopping! Obviously these were dresses she didn't say yes to...

This one was a close contender, the beauty of this dress was just breath-taking! However it didn't bring tears to our eyes like the one she picked did!

While we were shopping we were all browsing bridesmaids dresses since we are all bridesmaids in her wedding. While browsing we found one of MY bridesmaids dresses! I have never seen the color in person and oh my, its so, so pretty!

Friday afternoon I headed to a dreaded doctors appointment and then back to my moms house. I had to feed our pet frog and turn the heat on for their late arrival that evening. I decided that there wasn't any food at the house and drove up to our town's Bistro and had a nice dinner for one! I met a sweet older couple on a date night and they shared their dessert with me!

Saturday was full of some marketing and social media work for my moms and step-dads new business! They hired me for their new marketing and social media, I'm super excited and can't wait to start working with such a great company!
I also took my mom to get her very first iPhone! Welcome to the 21st century mom!

Saturday evening we had a wedding for a long-time friend of ours, Hamilton! He was the one who originally introduced Jeremy and I that one night in February 2011, we owe it all to him!

I went with a classic top-bun and my beloved Urban Outfitters dress from the JDRF gala two years ago

The wedding was a very traditional and beautiful ceremony, the reception was held at Forsyth Country Club, classic wedding and open bar! Heck yah.

My BFF/hair dresser Rachel and her husband Taylor, he was a groomsmen!

The evening was fabulous and I had so much fun with a lot of old friends from Winston!

Sunday we spent some time with God in Church and then put up one of mom's three Christmas trees!
I clearly kept Sunday comfy...

Like I said, this weekend was one for the books! I had such a great weekend and I am so very thankful for all my friends and family, I love them so much!

How was y'alls weekend?
