Face Time

So let's talk about my face. I like this topic. I take great pride in my cleansing and getting ready routine for my money maker. Sike, but really I have finally found the most perfect combination for a fresh looking face and i'm ready to share it!!

Make-up is one thing that I believe is ok to spend some extra bucks on. No one wants smudgy eye liner and clumpy mascara! And if I were some cheesy 2am informercial I would say, "I guarantee you will LOVE these products or your money back!!!!" But I'm not and you're not buying them from me soooooo, I just hope you love them as much as I do!

Also just for the make-up applying challenged, everything listed below is in the order that I put it on my face!
Makeup Routine

1. Clarisonic Mia
This thing is an angel straight from heaven. Your life WILL be changed! I had wanted one for a while but couldn't image paying the price tag for one, fortunately I won this beauty from Crystal! I promise it is worth the money! There is nothing more that I look forward to every day than washing my face with my Mia! (well and seeing J of course!)

2. Almay Wake-Up Under Eye Concealer
I have talked about this product before and I will continue to rave about it because it really does do its job! Covers up those dark circles and diminishes the puffy-ness under your eyes!

3. Bobbi Brown Mineral Foundation
I have tried every freakin mineral foundation in the book and this one by far has the best coverage and the lightest feel! Feels like you aren't wearing a thing! Plus there is SPF 15 in it so your whole face is covered against those nasty aging rays!

4. Urban Decay Primer Potion
I know about half of America uses this stuff but I just can't stress enough what an amazing tube of potion it is! My eye shadow will stay on ALL day or night and I tend to use less eye shadow because it just pops the color so well when I use this! I highly recommend the Sin color if you wear nudes a lot! Oh and a little tiny dab of potion goes a longgggg way!

5. Urban Decay Shadow in Sin
Stila Shadow in Diamond Lil
I will wear the sin if I am going to work or want a more simple pretty look. If I am going out or want a more dramatic look I will put the sin on first and then apply the Diamond Lil color to the lids of my eyes! I know the Diamond Lil color looks a little dark but over the Sin it looks BOMB!

6. Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner
Pretty simple to understand. Gel eyeliner is just better than any other eye liner and the Bobbi one is EVEN better! No smudging to smearing and stays on for hours! I have used MAC and Maybelline gel eyeliner also but I keep going back to the Bobbi one! If you don't want to spend that much on it (I totally understand!) then I would suggest the Maybelline gel eyeliner! Also be sure to always apply gel liner with an angled tip brush, looks sexy!

7. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes!
uh, need I say more? We all should know by now that this mascara is the shiz-nit and a side of cheez-its. (that totally just popped into my head as I am shoving handfuls of cheez-its down my throat)

8. NARS Blush in Deep Throat
Speaking of throats. Hate the name but love the results ;) ummm. NO really this color is greatness and always gives me that glowing a finished look! I would NEVER EVER wear any other blush now that I own some NARS!

This is the closest thing to the finished look I can find here on the laptop, its almost 3am and I really don't need a full face right now, ya hear me?

Well kids there ya have it, my daily face.
Do y'all use any of these products? Anything you guys would suggest I try? I am all about trial and error!

Life Lately

Knock, knock...
is anyone home?
Well I am now, but I apologize for my lack of blogging for so long!
Since I am such a picture person I figured I would catch y'all up on my life recently via the good 'ol iPhone pictures!

Last weekend my sister and her friend came to town and Jeremy and I took them to the J. Cole & Drake concert! It was so much fun! I am such a Drake lover!!

The weather here is NC has been gorgeous! We have truly been enjoying our rooftop pool every chance we get!

I learned a really cool nail painting tip... if you slap on a coat of white under pink or any other light color it becomes AWESOME. The colors are so much more vibrant and pretty!
1.One coat of  Essie "Blanc" then two coats of "Lights" 2.Essie- Bikini So Teeny!

I have started working night shifts and they have been a tad bit grueling! I am pretty busy for most of the night but around 2am things get real quiet and there is some down time... I've also learned that between 2am-5am Diet Coke doesn't cut it, these babies sure do though!

This weekend we headed to Surf City to a friends beach house and had such an amazing weekend! We laughed, played, soaked up the sun and enjoyed a few cocktails with such amazing friends! I am so lucky to know all of them!
Friday night we arrived pretty late so some card games were played and then lights were out for me, I only had a few hours of sleep the day before! Saturday was spent on the beach then we headed to an amazing little bistro in town!

(sadly the necklace is totally sold out in all colors!)

Sunday was spent lounging on the beach ALL day long then we headed to Wilmington to re-live freshman year and enjoy the most delicious food (in my opinion) in all of Wrightsville at Oceanic!
My dress this night was also from Vestique! It is such a beautiful dress on!

Monday was a relaxing day on the beach as well, unfortunately we all laid out under umbrellas due to over sun exposure, aka sun burn. But it still was an awesome day!

Bathing suit- Victorias Secret

and of course me on the way home... thanks for this honey, I love you too!

How has yall's week been? Hope everyone had an awesome and safe Memorial Day weekend!

I used to do a what I'm loving Wednesday post all the time but I don't really do them much anymore. Due to my life flipping upside down with night shifts I decided my creativity is out the window today, so not only am I posting this at 5pm but this is all your getting today honey!

-I am loving the weather! Last night we had a HUGE storm and it made the air feel so calm and cool this morning! Not to mention I kept opening patients windows last night to listen to the rain, I told them the noise would help them sleep! haha

- I am loving that Emily is coming to town tomorrow and I am sure we will grab some Starbucks and do some damage on the debit accounts once she arrives! yay!

- I am LOVING that I am headed to the beach on Friday! This will probably be the only beac vacay I get this summer so I am going to relax, sit on my bum and enjoy every second of it!

- I am loving that about 14 hours from now my work week is over!

- I am loving my friend Brooke and how hard she has been working for her new company, Daily Chic!! She did an adorable video last night that really shows people that posing for that cover shot isn't as easy as it looks!

oh and ignore the loser in the neon shorts ;)

What are y'all loving today?

Picnic Anyone?

One thing I love about summer is being outdoors and enjoying the sun! I really do love to go on picnics and I think that one thing I love about my vintage picnic basket is the blue gingham lining!

Recently I feel like I have been seeing my picnic basket lining pop up all over the fashion world! I don't know how much I love looking like a picnic but I do have to say that some of these items are just adorable!

Things I Believe I Need

First off- thanks for all the sweet congratulations on Mondays post! Job is going very well and I will start my first 12 hour shift TOMORROW! ahhhhh!

Lately I have really trying to cut back on shopping, shocker! I kind of went nuts last month in the shopping category and overall I just really need to cut back!

BUT that doesn't mean I can't have a little list of things I want, right?

This sexsy little chevron romper...
ps. thats my old roommate Jena, isn't she the cutest? She's the manager of Fab'rik Chapel Hill, go say hey and tell her I sent you if you're ever near there!

This adorable Moon & Lola acrylic monogram necklace! I want in brown!

Leopard Print Dansko clogs! AH I want these bad! We can wear whatever shoes we want at the hospital and these leopard babies would look fabulous with my teal scrubs! Too bad I can't find them anywhere except eBay and that just freaks me out to wear someone else's shoes!

OK I am going to stop for today! I could probably go on for about 12 more times but thats just excessive!

Do y'all ever just make a little list of things you want and decided to purchase the best choice at that time? I think thats what I may plan to do after I receive my first paycheck!?!

I'm A Working Girl!

So as many of you know via Twitter or just being my friends, I got the job I interviewed for a few weeks ago! YAY!

I will be floating between two hospitals and on four different floors assisting in surgical recovery and general practice! The job starts off as a 12 week paid internship and then will turn into a full or part time position once I pick the floor and hospital I want to work on and depending on the open positions at the time! Come fall I will choose part time since I am still in school but this summer its full time, bring on the 12 hour shifts!!! Can't wait!

So starting today and until June 3rd I will be working 8-5 for orientation at both hospitals and all four floors!
I do not get to wear my comfy scrubs for these three weeks so sassy pants that I am have to start planning out some business professional outfits! I am confident and a-okay with todays but you working women need to help me out!
I have a TON of dresses I can wear with blazers or cardigans but I don't know office etiquette! Last year I was allowed to work in jeans and scrubs soooo I've never really had to look presentable on a daily basis, and at 7am!

How short is too short for a dress?
How many inches should my hem hit above my knee?
Are wide leg black trousers appropriate? (they look like these!)
Is a hot pink blouse with ruffles too much?

SO many questions running through my mind!

Also- fellow nursing ladies, how do I survive a 12 hour shift? I like Diet Coke and coffee but I can only have so much or else I get crazy shakes and no one wants a shaky nurse! Also how do I sleep during the day if I work at night?

Ok so you get the point, I am flooding my mind with questions!
Any advice at all I would love to hear!

Fashion Friday: high-low

LOVING the current high-low trend! I found this adorable pink blouse from Forever 21 and fell in love

Shirt-F21 , Pants- Old Navy, Shoes- Target (similar), Neon Bangle- F21
Lips- Revlon Matte Nude Attitude

ps. I am working on getting my links to appear a different color than my text, not sure why this isn't working for me! but each item you can click on to take you to the item!

Love this look with the pants but my question is, can this be pulled off with shorts or a skirt? What do y'all think?

Things I Wonder

...why does my back always itch in the ONE and ONLY spot I can't reach?

...why do people feel the need to have joint Facebook account?
ie. Brian & Kimberly
You are not one person, Its weird!

...why do people feel the need to express their hatred towards others via social media?
thats meant to be between you and that person, or just yourself.

...why doesn't my laundry wash itself? Or my bed make its self? there crack in Diet Coke? because there needs to be, that would make my addiction easier to understand.

...why didn't I buy salt & vinegar chips at the grocery for lunch? I want them now.

...why do men not understand the concept of putting the roll of toilet paper ON the toilet paper roll holder, not beside it?

...why can't I leave nail polish on my nails for more than 2 days? I change it every two days!

and finally,
why is the sky blue??

What do y'all wonder? Am I just crazy and have a head full of crazy thoughts?

Outfit: Polka Dots & Red Lips

Tried a retro look the other day. Loved the red lips with the red polka dot scarf! The scallop edge shorts were a plus also!

Shirt- Nordstrom, Shorts- Forever 21, Shoes- Sam Edelman GINGER, Lips- NARS Heat Wave, Bangles- Forever 21, Head Scarf- Sister's!

Would y'all wear a cute scarf? I have never been one for head dresses but I am loving this look!

Top 5 Tuesday: Guilty Pleasures!

Just Peachy

Wouldn't be Tuesday if I wasn't linking up with Rachel for Top 5 Tuesday! This week, top 5 guilty pleasures! So fun and I can't wait to read everyone else's!

1. Wine
I have never felt guilty for enjoying a glass or two of wine, however I will sometimes feel guilty when I indulge about two or three nights in a row... oops. I'm just a sucker for a nice glass of red :)

2. Shopping
Whenever I am having a bad day or I just need a little pick-me-up, I go shopping. I hate that I do this and I sometimes regret my purchase shortly after but hey, it makes me happy in the moment, right?!?

3. Desperate Housewives & Grey's Anatomy
SO sad Desperate is going off air! I could cry! I don't watch a lot of TV, I never ever get caught up in a reality show or some drama show but I have always since day one followed those sexy housewives! I could watch the doctors of Seattle Grace ALL day long, I usually do thanks to the Lifetime channel!

4. Pizza
OMG I could eat pizza everyday for the rest of my life! I don't know why I am so addicted to pizza but it is seriously a bad guilty pleasure of mine!
Makes my mouth water...

5. Mani/Pedi or Massage
I am REALLY bad about this, I usually do my own nails and will go months without a massage but some days I get down on myself or will just need some pampering. Then I will go and schedule a mani/pedi AND massage all in one day. I blame my mom for this, she was always treating me to spa days growing up. again, oops.

What are yall's guilty pleasures?? I wanna hear!

Put A Bow On It!

I am all about some girly bows!
I recently purchased a pair of shorts from H&M that has a bow as the belt/tie on the shorts, I was very hesitant to try these since the bow was kind of large and I thought, made me look very young. Long story short, I love these shorts now! I get so many compliments on them when I wear them!

I am LOVING all of these bow shorts, especially the blue ones!

Would y'all ever wear this trend?

See You Again

Ever since the wedding Jeremy & I attended last Saturday we have done some wedding talk! Exciting, I know! I could picture every detail we went over and talked about and it was beautiful and made my heart fill with joy thinking about the day I will marry my best friend. But the one thing I cannot and kind of don't want to picture is me walking down the aisle and being given away. I cannot imagine anyone giving me away besides my father, this crushes me to think about how he will not be there to give me away. Since this wedding talk and beautiful visions of weddings it has got me thinking about my dad and how I will see him again one day, just not in this lifetime. I will see him in heaven and he will be there to hug me and love me and he is watching over me every single day. He may not physically be there to walk me downy he aisle but he will be in spirit, he will be there in thought and in my heart.

Onto where this story is actually going- I am not much of a country music fan but every once in awhile I will crank up Carrie Underwood and get in a girl-rock-out mood. I was hesitant to buy her whole new album so I previewed the whole album on iTunes the other day. The third or fourth song was See You Again, I was sold. I bought the album. The song just spoke to me, she is saying that no matter what, she's going to go to the ends of the earth to see you again. No matter what I will see my Daddy again and it will be beautiful! He is looking down on me and I know I truly will never be alone, he is always here with me.

It's just funny how a song can speak such volumes to someone. I love how the song is so powerful but in no way is it sad, it puts a smile on my face for all the right reasons! :)
I couldn't have thought for better words and music to describe how I feel about seeing my daddy again one day.

Said goodbye, turned around
And you were gone, gone, gone
Faded into the setting sun,
Slipped away
But I won’t cry
Cause I know I’ll never be lonely
For you are the stars to me,
You are the light I follow

I’ll See you again, oh
This is not where it ends
I will carry you with me, oh
Till I see you again

I can hear those echoes in the wind at night
Calling me back in time
Back to you
In a place far away
Where the water meets the sky
The thought of it makes me smile
You are my tomorrow

I’ll See you again, oh
This is not where it ends
I will carry you with me, oh
Till I see you again

Sometimes I feel my heart is breaking
But I stay strong and I hold on cause I know
I’ll see you again, oh
This is not where it ends
I will carry you with me, yeah yeah

I’ll See you again, oh
This is not where it ends
I will carry you with me, oh
Till I see you again
Till I see you again,
Till I see you again,
Said goodbye turned around
And you were gone, gone, gone.

Have any of y'all downloaded her new album? It is quite amazing, as always, she rocks it!

Fashion Friday: Polka-Dot Romper

I am starting to like this Fashion Friday! It makes me step outside of my normal weekly outfits and try something fun or new! Now I am not your average height, I am pushing 5'8" so sometimes rompers tend to creep-up in areas they should not creep up! This one is no exception, I have to lower the straps all the way and make sure I have some room! So excuse the long awkward bony legs in this one, my knees are atrocious!

Romper- H&M, Shoes- Target, Bracelet- boutique in home town
LOVE the zipper in the front!

Blazer- H&M

Not going to lie, I am not really hating the Rihanna boot look with this! I think its different and I love me some different!
note my "I think I'm a bad-ass" glare. It's all an act.

I began blogging.
What a year it has been!
Most importantly I have met some amazing people! I have learned so much about myself and many, many other things! I am SO thankful for this little blog of mine and I am even more thankful for all of YOU! Y'all are why I keep blogging. Your sweet, sweet comments and words of encouragement in times of stress mean so much to me!

I seriously could not have imagined that a little idea of mine could have become this amazing blog one year ago. I started this blog because I was at a time in my life where I had gotten rid of the bad and started some good! I moved home to be with my family, started a new and positive relationship and I wanted to have those memories with me forever!

I want to thank each and every one of my readers for following along and being so kind! I can't wait to see where this blog takes me and who I will meet this year! I really have met some amazing girls and have created some incredible friendships through the dang internet!! who knew?!?

Where do you want to be a year from now? Where do you want your blog to be?
Do y'all want to see anything on my blog? What would y'all like to hear about or see me do? Let me know!
Looking back I am so glad I decided to start this blog a year ago!

A year from now what will you wish you had started today??

Busy Bee

I really wish I had some posts scheduled for y'all this week! I really didn't plan accordingly and I really didn't think my week would end up being so busy!! Between finals, new job, time with Jeremy and a FUN new project in working on with a friend, I can barely breathe! AH!

A little bit late but here are some pictures from this past weekend and the wedding we attended!

I wore dress #1 from my post last week! My dress is from Forever 21 and necklace is my Grandmothers!

Mirror pics before we headed to the church, totally necessary!

They have been taking dance lessons for the past few months and they had a perfect first dance together! It was choreographed and so beautiful!

Her bridesmaids wore white with kelly green shoes and it was SO pretty! I wish I had gotten a better picture of their outfits!

Rachel & Taylor are now enjoying being newlyweds in Jamaica and I'm here getting tons of packages every day from their front door, so fun, you should have seen me trying to carry these dang boxes today! I was sweat in my little butt off!!!
