How I make that money honey!

Linking-up with The Bargain Blonde today for How I make that money honey! Since I just recently started my job I am sure most of you know what I do and how I get that pay check but for those of you that don't I figured I would link-up!

I work at a major hospital in Charlotte on their nursing resource team, aka NRT. We are basically float pool nurses, I travel between two hospitals and fill in where certain floors are short staffed. I am actually PRN, which means as needed but I usually work full-time. I work 3, 12 hour shifts at night, 7pm to 7am! Yes they are long and no I do not like them at all! I currently have 5 shifts standing between me and day hours! I can't wait!!!

When I took the job I wasn't promised a permanent position, they needed extra NRT staff for the summer months since so many full-time and permanent staff vacation during the summer. My current position only runs through the end of August. After talking to my boss and other staff members they are trying to find me a permanent position at one of the many hospitals they have around here!
I do LOVE wearing scrubs though!

I love what I do and I can't imagine not working in nursing and with people! I love taking care of people and have that feeling that at the end of every day (or morning in my case) that I have made a difference in someones life!

Feel free to ask me questions about my job or whatever else comes to mind! And while you're at it link-up with Lindsey today!

Favorite Summer Treat

During summer my favorite treat was always Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bars! You could get them at the grocery store or from the ice cream man! I would eat the whole box if my mom would have let me! They still are to this day one of my favorite treats! I literally can't resist one if I see one somewhere! I have even bought one a a sketchy gas station... (don't judge)

Because its Monday...

...and the creative juices aren't flowing, I stole this Q&A from Crystal and I plan on answering it...

1. How long have you been blogging?

And what got you started on blogging?
                                             Has your blog changed?
I've been blogging a little over a year! I started blogging because my good friend Amanda blogged and I loved the idea of putting my thoughts and ideas out there! Basically Bre used to be Sugar & Spice and the design has changed too many times!

2. Did you go to college? If so where?
I went to college at NC State for a brief stint!

3. Where have you traveled?
Florida, New York, yada yada its all boring! I've never left the country except for a quick 24 hour trip to Canada last summer. Where I learned that having air condition is a true blessing!

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
either a Louis Vuitton bag of my choice or a way over priced pair of pumps!

5. What are your 3 biggest blogging pet peeves?
-people who talk trash on blogs, grow up.
-people who have strong opinions about how blogging should work or how a blog should look. its my blog, not yours.
-and people who make up fake words or ridiculous nick names for their men... stop it. speak english please.

6. What is your favorite movie?
The Shining or Fight Club

7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?
wine, duh. and Diet Coke, another duh.
I got all artsy with the DC on Instagram, i'm cool.

8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?
getting my nails done or getting a massage. so heavenly.

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?
oh lord. Nordstrom, or possibly Target. Love me some tar-jay!

10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.
This would be the time I face planted, or rather, side planted in front of about 40 fellow high schoolers in a Starbucks parking lot. I went to a small private Christian high school for a few years and every Wednesday night after youth group or small group we would all go to Starbucks and talk. Cool I know. So I also ran track and could run pretty fast, in track shoes. I don't remember how the "race" started but someone dared me to do something and I just took off running to prove to a point. I was wearing flip flops... I started feeling my flops flipping too much and the next thing I knew I was on my side literally skimming across pavement. I tore off all the skin on my shoulder, arm and hip. I had serious bruises and even worse open nasty wounds for weeks! Everyone saw me eat pavement and just laughed, but  I deserved it. Also I didn't go to school for the rest of the week. It was awful!

11. What day would you love to relive again?
Specifically, the Saturday Jeremy & I spent in Asheville last fall. It was such an amazing, fun, romantic and incredible day!

Other than that- any day I ever had with my father, I would give the world to relive an hour with him!

12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?
someone really funny and they would have to have an odd sense of humor! Maybe Zooey Deschanel or Amy Poehler!

13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?
Waitress! I was a waitress as soon as I turned 16 and was waitressing until the end of my Freshman year! I also babysat and nannied a lot! I was a full-time nanny for over a year after NC State, LOVED it! Best job ever!

14. Show us a picture from high school or college.
note: I did not ever actually dress like that- we threw a party called, "thank god I'm not" and I was "thank god I'm not Heidi from The Hills... SPENCER!!! haha
also I miss my hair!!!!

15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?
Spain? Possibly Africa, safari anyone?

16. Show us the most current picture of you or you, or your family.

17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now?
Wherever God takes me!
I don't need to plan anything beyond tomorrow, for I am blessed to even have today!

Now y'all answer a question! I want to know more about my readers!!

7.19.2012

Your two whole questions, answered!

So THIS post was a bust.
Apparently I just tell it all so no one needs to ask questions about my life?!?

Thanks to you two who asked a question, like I promised, I will answer them...

-Well Rachel, first off change you Google account last name, you're married now. And you know I wear granny panties. I mean I just like some cotton on my bum, ok?
(she's my bff so its ok if I tell her what to do!)

-Hailey I honestly don't know! I'm more of a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl, I don't really have a life plan or anything. I just trust God to take my life where he wants it to go! If I had to guess I would say that I will be married to Jeremy and still living here in good 'ol Charlotte, working as a Nurse and praying I won't be on night shifts anymore!

So that sums that up!
Hope I answered your questions ladies! And Rachel- get your butt over here to drink some wine and lay by the pool with me, k?

Trend Watch: faux leather pants

Ever since last fall I have been dying to try out a pair of leather skinnies! I don't know what it is about them that just makes me smile but I am on a serious hunt for a pair! Obviously I will not be purchasing a real leather pair because this chick can't afford $2,000 pants! But I hate how a lot of the "pleather" pants look like plastic, tough situation here.
So far I have found that the "vegan" leather, and ones not priced at $9.99 from some Japanese company seem to look the best!

Right now I am loving these...

I kind of like how some of the pants are more like "leggings" these from Guess have been my favorite legging type so far, not too plastic looking!

What do y'all think of the faux leather pant? Would you rock it?

Two bruised knees, one cut finger and a lot of cursing later...

I have finished my bedroom/closet maker-over!
yay!
So my mom came to town on Thursday night and somehow around 1pm on Saturday we decided that we should re-do my room and organize my closet for maximum usage of the closet. What were we thinking??
After 4 hours at IKEA, another few hours at Home Depot and Walmart we began the face lift!
Our bedroom was one thing I never really gave a lot of attention to when we moved because I figured I wouldn't really care and we didn't need to spend the money. I got tired of that thought real quick but nothing ever caught my eye as far as bedding goes. While we were at IKEA I saw some bedding that made me squeal with excitement! I then decided to add curtains, picture frames, and a small green plant. (lets pray I don't kill it)
After all of that I decided that I needed to tackle my closet. Between Jeremy and I we own about 100 pairs of shoes and way too many clothes to even count. The shoes were taking over and we started shoving pairs anywhere we could find a spot and therefore I would forget about shoes I had. Our other issue was hanging space, everything fit but it was tight and with my abundance of dresses and skirts I was cramming Jeremy's suits onto the same rack and this did not please him. His suit jackets were moved to the hall closet and his shirts were always so wrinkled.
I knew I had to purchase a wardrobe or armoire of some kind to either move my dresses or his suits.
His suits won the closet, damn it.

So i'll stop talking now and get to the pictures, now this is nothing fancy or anything to pin home about, but I am IN LOVE with everything I did this past weekend!

I still have NO idea what to put on the wall behind our bed, every time I think something will work I try it and the wall is so huge it looks stupid. :(

Im obsessed with our window treatments, they are an light pretty linen and create such a dramatic look that it's been missing!

I added the wardrobe to the left of the dresser, I don't love having this awkward standing closet in my room but I really had no other choice! And yes, there are supposed to be doors on it but for some reason my hangers don't fit in the wardrobe so the doors won't shut!? Whatever, that thing was a PAIN IN THE BUTT to put together so its staying that way!

This is my favorite thing I added this weekend. Last time I was home I found some of my dads stuff and pictures from college. I fell in love with these three pictures he took for a college class and just knew I had to incorporate them into something! The picture of the house is actually a picture of my mom standing on the porch looking all model-esque and she has some serious Farrah Fawcett hair going on!

The closet looks SO much better now! These pictures do not do it justice! All of Jeremy's suits and work shirts now have space and aren't crammed. I also kept my maxi dresses/skirts on this rack since they were too long for the wardrobe.
I love that I freed up the floor of those awful plastic shoe things. I bought a stacking shelf and just put all of Jeremy's dress shoes and nice sneakers there.
Once the hall closet was clear of his suit jackets I was able to put all our coats and sweaters in the hall closet. I also added a simple over the door shoe holder to house our sneakers, flip flops and yucky shoes, loving that those are out of the closet now and out of my sight!!

Since I got rid of one tacky shoe holder I obviously had to get another to hold my crazy amount of shoes...
There was NO where else to put this crazy thing but I really like that I can see ALL my heels and nice flats now! We never shut our closet door so this works just fine for me!

Lastly I managed to find a cute frame for the adorable print Crystal sent me!

Alright ladies- find me something to go on the wall above my bed and I will love y'all forever!

happy Monday dolls!

rain, rain, go away, come again another day!

Its a rainy, dreary day here in NC!
I am not a fan of rainy days and the attire that goes with them.
What to wear?
I like to keep it monochromatic with a side of fun, something has to be bright on this gloomy day!

Let's Talk, Shall We?

Hey Dolls!

I don't know if this is what I wanted to blog about today or not but this is what is happening...

What do y'all want to know about Bre?

I kind of want to do a Q&A... y'all ask, I answer!
I promise I will answer anything, whatever y'all want!

Like: "Bre, why are you so weird and not wear pants around your house?"
OR
"Bre, why do you consume wine like wahoo fish?"
(ps. wahoo fish can drink their own weight)

I mean I may not answer that second one because honestly I don't know the answer...

So, GO!!!
Ask me anything...
