Hey Y'all!
I am taking the week off, I'm in Buffalo visiting family!
Eating wings so hot my lips are falling off & drinking bloody marys so strong I might pass out. Basically I am having a FABULOUS time!

See y'all next week!

How I Style

Linking up this Friday for Friday's Fancies! This week is Style Crush, something that inspires you! I have a lot that inspires me for fashion and picking an outfit out! Here are a few things that always get my brain ticking when I'm styling for an outfit!

I have an obsession with prints, mixing them, making them pop, trying new ones! I love having an accessory that is a print or statement and organizing the entire outfit around that piece!

-Girly and classic pieces
I love the clean cut look of a skirt or shift dress, add in a bow or pearls and perfection happens!

Oh my heavens, most of my outfits involve shoes that I am head-over-heels for! (no pun intended!)

What are your style inspirations?

Trendy Thursday

One trend I was super hesitant about were the palazzo pants! However, I as always, gave in and tried the trend!

So many of y'all asked where I got my pants and of course, they're from Petal!

So sadly, I think I snagged the last pair, but after some searching I found a few pairs that I love and y'all should snatch up asap!

Midweek Randoms

Linking up with Megan from In This Wonderful Life for Midweek Randoms!

1. This work week may actually kill me. I'll be in overtime sometime Friday and the only thing that is keeping me running is the thought of the paycheck!

2. My obsession with Law & Order:SVU has gotten even worse once I realized there were 4 more seasons I haven't seen on Netflix. OMG!

3. Speaking of Netflix, it's all we have now since I went nuts on TWC and cancelled our cable. I have already gone through season one of New Girl, love it! And season one of Grey's, again. I think I'm going to start Orange is the new Black next, i've heard such good things about! Has anyone else been watching that show? Or should I be watching any amazing shows on Netflix?

4. I woke up at noon today, hence the late post.

5. I'm going to a spin class tonight, first one ever, I'm so scared!!!

6. I want to make a bomb-ass lasagna for Jeremy one night, any recipes y'all have that I use follow??

Towel Dry

I am a firm believer in being prepared & fashionable at the pool or beach! Every summer I am on the hunt for a fashion forward and LARGE towel! A few summers back I got a pink Lacoste towel and it's been my go-to for years now!

Here are a few I am loving!

I went golfing over the weekend, bar golfing that is!

Bar golf is a little fun game where you choose 9 different bars and 9 different drinks! Each bar has a "par" drink, drink that, you make par. Drink more you get a birdie, drink less you get a bogey!

We chose 9 bars between Plaza Midwood and NoDa, we stuck with mostly beer at each bar. I would also advise water at every other bar!

1. Whiskey Warehouse- 2 beers on draft
2. Common Market- A craft or local specialty beer
3. Peculiar Rabbit- Beer we've never heard of
4. Thomas Street Tavern- Angry Balls
5. Dog Bar- Beer of choice
6. The Blind Pig- Cheapest beer in a can
7. Bar With No Name- Bartenders beer of choice
8. Growlers- Beer starting with a "J"
(if no beer starts with J then work down in the alphabet!)
9. Infused- Infused vodka drink

2nd stop: Common Market, last week I was telling y'all about my favorite places and CM was one of them for the amazing beer & wine selection!

2. craft or local specialty beer- BirdSong Jalapeño Pale Ale

3. Peculiar Rabbit- Beer we've never heard of- Watermelon beer! So good!!

Once again I was telling y'all last week about the view from Peculiar Rabbit...

4. Thomas St. Tavern- Angry Balls!

Angry Orchard Crisp Apple + Fireball shot= Angry Balls

5. Dog bar! Huge Jenga and cute pups!

6. Blind Pig- cheapest beer in a can, PBR tall boys, duh!

And of course some friendly thumb wars!

Bar 7 was bartenders choice and once again, we got the watermelon beer! It was yummy but it's more of a beer for a pool day!
The game was fun, but let's face it, we're old. We didn't make it past bar #7! Regardless, we had an awesome night! I would highly suggest playing some golf next time you're out!

The CLT Social: July Meet-Up

Hey gals! Just wanted to inform you Charlotte ladies of the July meet-up!

I don't know for sure yet if I will be attending this one due to my work schedule and flying out of town the next day but I'll keep y'all posted on Twitter (@brenicole88)

Black Bean Corn Salsa

I never really post food items or recipes but y'all, this stuff is AMAZING! My mom has always made it for parties and get togethers, I decided to make it for two events this month and people loved it!

Black Bean Corn Salsa
-2 15oz. cans of white corn
-3 med tomatoes, peeled, seeded and finely chopped or 2 cans of diced tomatoes
-3 to 4 fresh jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped
-2 15oz. cans od black beans rinsed and drained
-1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
-1/3 cup of lime juice
-1/4 teaspoon of salt
-1/4 teaspoon of pepper
-2 avocados, peeled and finely chopped
-Balsamic vinegar to taste
-3/4 cup of water

Add all ingredients together except avocados, don't peel and chop the avocados till you are about to serve the salsa!

With all the ingredients mixed together, except the avocados, chill the salsa for 2-3 hours!
Once chilled and ready to serve add the avocados on top and finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice!

Serve with your favorite chips and enjoy! I promise you won't be able to stop eating!

Charlotte Love

Charlotte. I love it, I really do!
I never thought I would fall in love with a city like I did with Charlotte. Ever since we moved here back in 2011 I am always finding new places and new things to do, still! As much as I like trying a new place I am also a serious creature of habit! Here are a few places I religiously go to and will recommend to anyone!
Best "fancy" restaurant:
Aria Tuscan Grill (Uptown)
100 N. Tryon St.

AMAZING food & atmosphere! I absolutely love the look and feel of this restaurant, the food is quite incredible as well!
Drinks are pricey but the food is very reasonable!

We had our blogger dinner here back in December!

Best family owned, family style restaurant:
Villa Francesca (Uptown)
321 N Caldwell St

Oh my word yall! I have never been that into Italian food but this place... *insert omg good face!* The family owns and operates this adorable little place and the food is all their own! The daughter Francesca spends almost every evening there and is always so sweet! She hooks a girl up with some vino! I recommend the penna a la vodka or pull a Jeremy and ask your server to "surprise" you! We have never been disappointed!

Best mexican food (because I'm addicted)
Three Amigos
2917 Central Ave

A M A Z I N G! Authentic mexican and the amount of food you get for the money is mind blowing! I recommend the arroz con pollo with extra queso! Mariel and I will be there Wednesday, it is becoming a weekly thing!

Best dive bar:
The Thirsty Beaver (Plaza Midwood)
1225 Central Ave

Keep an open mind, that's all I have to say! This bar is a serious hole in the wall and has some characters that hang around! But I promise you will always have a good time! And when there is beer for $.50 you really can't go wrong! As they say, "A place where you can come and not give a damn!"
Best Local Brewery:
NoDa Brewing Co. (NoDa)
2229 N Davidson St.

Just amazing beer. Not to mention they sell the awesome pint koozies. No brainer here!

Best beer selection & weekend drink spot:
Common Market
2007 Commonwealth Ave.
1515 South Tryon St.

Both of the Common Markets here are awesome. Hands down the largest beer and wine selection for a chill hang out place. You get to buy your own six pack, single pints, bottles of champagne or wine and then just chill. There is always such a wide variety of people and beers! I love going here on a chill Saturday or an evening of hanging out! I promise this place won't disappoint! They also always have local NC drafts and during the day the deli is open at each location with some kick ass sandwiches!

Best view of the city:
The Peculiar Rabbit
1212 Pecan Ave. (Plaza Midwood)

...I have my doubts about their food (read: food poisoning) but the view I can't argue with. The rooftop is such a perfect place to grab a bite or sip on a few drinks! Late night is pretty fun here too but be careful, lots of steps!

So honestly, I could go on for hours about my favorite places in Charlotte! But these are the few that stick out in my head! I know I have a few readers new to Charlotte so as always, ask me anything!
